‘The World Awakens’: a unique digital premiere
‘The World Awakens’ is part of a new oratorio by Laura and composer Kate Whitley, commissioned by Buxton International Festival in partnership with the Royal Overseas League. In 2020, following the postponement of the full piece’s premiere, the Multi-Story Orchestra created a unique digital project featuring an online virtual choir and orchestra performance of its final movement.
This very special film, featuring soloists Kate Royal, Sarah-Jane Lewis and Matthew Rose, and hundreds of school children, was initially shown as part of the Gaia Festival at Gloucester Cathedral in October 2020, and subsequently premiered online in December.
